The Transfer Station & Recycling Center is located at 1629 NH Route 175, Thornton and serves the towns of Campton, Thornton and Ellsworth. We are a mandatory recycling facility.
RECYCLING IS MANDATORY (pursuant to Town Meeting of 3/12/1991 Warrant Article #27): Separate recycling areas for materials are provided; please see the Transfer Station Fee Schedule & the Recycled Material Requirements handout for information on recycled material. When in doubt concerning the disposal of any material, please ask an attendant.
Stickers are required to use the Transfer Station. All residents and/or property owners may acquire a sticker at their appropriate Town Hall or at the Transfer Station, by providing their vehicle registration and proof of residency/ownership. Stickers are vehicle specific and cannot be transferred between vehicles. Stickers shall be affixed to the interior of a passenger side window. It is preferred to have them affixed on the lower corner of the windshield, however, placement on any window on the passenger side is acceptable.
STICKER ENFORCEMENT: In an effort to keep costs down, the staff at the Transfer Station will be enforcing the requirement of stickers. Sticker enforcement is necessary to confirm that ONLY residents or property owners of Campton, Thornton and Ellsworth are utilizing the facility. We ask for your continued patience and understanding.
FEE PAYMENT POLICY: This is a Cash free facility. You may pay by check or punch cards only. Punch cards can be acquired at either the Thorrnton or Campton Town Halls.
For the safety of all, please ensure that all children under the age of 12 remain in vehicles.
Please take note of the Holiday Closure notice for days that the Transfer Station will be Closed in observance of holidays.
