Our mission statement in part reads, “The Thornton Police Department will work in collaboration with the community to maintain and improve the quality of life, making the Town a safer, more desirable place to live, work and visit.”
Our goal is to continue to provide exceptional police services through this ongoing partnership with the Thornton community. Chief Kenneth Miller
About Chief Miller
Chief Ken Miller has served with the Thornton Police Department since May 1st 2017, and is a 20-year veteran of Law enforcement. Miller previously worked in Farmington CT as the Patrol Executive Officer, held the rank of Sergeant within the organization, where he split his time supervising the agency’s Patrol, Youth, and Community Policing Services. His experiences also include municipal law enforcement service as a Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer, Criminal Investigator, and Shift Supervisor.
Chief Miller is a graduate of Southern New Hampshire University and holds a master’s degree in Justice Studies with a Homeland Security Certificate, he earned a bachelor’s degree (Honors) in Public Safety Administration from Charter Oak State College. Chief Miller is a graduate of the Roger Williams “Justice System Training and Research Institute” Command Series Training: Executive Development. Chief Miller is a current member of the New Hampshire Chief’s of Police Association, Chairperson of the Grafton County Chiefs of Police, National Society of Leadership and Success (SNHU Chapter), Plymouth Court Jurisdictional Court Assoction (President), and the Lincoln- Woodstock Rotary Club (President).
